Bulbs that aren't dimmable have a much greater chance of blowing out if used in a dimming setting like an auto thermostat. Then people will blame the fixture or the bulbs. If you plan on using a dimmable automatic thermostat, make sure your bulbs are dimmable and the correct wattage for the lamp etc.

It’s pretty cheap at 25 usd but no one has bought it. Absolutely no reviews anywhere. The thermostat would be perfect for my budget and what I need but I simply don’t know if I should trust it due to its price and lack of reviews.

Long-term failure is not an option meaning whatever I buy I have to have two so I have a spare (and a dimmer switch as a secondary temporary emergency manual-adjust backup) but even it would be better not to start something with a known quality control issue.

Was dialing a new setup in and the heat bulb was flashing like crazy, when this is supposed to be a dimmer. Then all of the sudden the thermostat gave me this double line and the instructions say it short circuited and to "fix the fault." I've tried everything from unplugging/replugging, messing with the settings, and it's just seemingly broken now. It will let me adjust the temp setting but once it leaves that it goes back to the double line. This thing is brand new...

All the cheap Chinese company “dimming” thermostats have very mixed reviews and often don’t even really work like a proper dimming thermostat. An actual good dimming thermostat starts around $100-$150. Honestly I’d trust a $15 Fluker dome with built in dimmer switch more than a cheap thermostat.
